Default 2017 is not wanting to end on a happy note.

Besides the teenage girl in a 70 year old man's body in the White House, of course.

Co-founder and rhythm guitarist for AC/DC, Malcolm Young whom had been battling dementia, passes away.

http://www.rollingstone.com/music/ne...-at-64-w512164

For Dragon Ball fans, and anime fans, the Japanese voice of Bulma (and many other characters), Hiromi Tsuru, passed away after being found unconscious in her car. She died from an aortic dissection.

Comparing That Which Occupies the Oval Office to a teenage girl is insulting to teenage girls. Actually, comparing it to any human is an insult to the species and we're a bunch of murdering assholes.

Still. He lacks much in common with the rest of humanity and it is slightly insulting to suggest the he is the same species as the rest of us.

Works for me. I'm sure they'll be unhappy with the comparison, but perhaps they can do sorting about it.

Either that or go with the *warning NSFW* Scots...

That one hit hard. She and Nozawa were there since episode 1. Nozawa is 81, and Tsuru was only 57.

Yeah. She, Nozawa, and the announcer were the first voices on the series.

Won't be easy looking for someone else to voice Bulma going forward. At least they're in an arc where they can take some time to find as worthy a successor as possible.

And her last act, seemingly, was to pull over to the side of the road so no one else got hurt. But never got a chance to get help for herself.

Also, you are becoming a favorite of Geekdom's to use as a resource, by the way.

There are rumors that it might be this woman. There was some speculation that she would voice Shantsa (because Shantsa was kind of a meme in the Japanese fandom) but then Shantsa turned out to be Ryōko Shiraishi (who also played Kakunsa). Either way, they have a little while to find someone if they want to take their time.

That's because I text him when there are spoilers. Actually I forgot to text him the last few times. It's nice to see my big WoT Twitter header on his DB videos though, lol; I did wonder if you would appreciate that. I picked up another 400 Twitter followers after that last video but meh.

Usually when I find stuff on 5ch I just DM it to Herms and then Herms tweets his translation. Herms didn't seem to be around for that provisional title for 123, though (we weren't expecting anything), and Spazz didn't tweet her translation, so I tweeted it, which Geekdom seemed to think was something to congratulate me for ("Terez got it!" is what he said). I'd rather Herms tweet it, always. I never tweet the stuff I find on 5ch anymore because I don't want the google-translators to get to it before Herms does, and I don't care if no one knows my involvement.

This fandom has really sucked me in. I never expected to play any kind of major role in it; I figured I was surely too casual a fan to go that way. But here I am. I will probably never be as knowledgeable about DB as I am about WoT, but I'm trying to fill in the gaps in my knowledge. Maybe it's possible; it depends on how long this goes on I guess. I was a newcomer in this fandom too. (I've been a DB fan slightly longer than I've been a WoT fan; I have no other comparable obsessions.)

Dragon Ball has that affect. Now time for the fandom's universal past time; all hail the Lord and Savior!

At least The Last Jedi kept up the general feeling of the year and sucked balls!

Haven't watched it yet. Probably won't until it comes out on DVD anyway.

Wasn't overly impressed with the last one though.

Postpone it as long as you can IMO

I liked FA because despite it's flaws it was still a Star Wars movie. Unlike The Last Jedi where the writer admitted he did everything different just because he could.

You're in luck. Jar Jar Abrams is directing Episode IX, so if you liked the tired re-telling of Episodes I and IV that VII was, you should be delighted by the coming offering from Captain Lensflare.

I had some nitpicks with some of the stuff, but over all loved it. There were three scenes that were jaw dropping amazing. Granted, there were other scenes that were facepalm worthy, but having said that, I really don't get some of the hate that's being thrown it's way.

Likewise. There were a few scenes that I felt should have been a little different, but I still overall really enjoyed the movie. I'm looking forward to actually getting a chance to see it in IMAX later this week.

I caught a VIP showing on Friday...third row on the aisle, which is one of the reasons I need to see it again. Looks like I might see it twice more, at least one of which will be in IMAX.

Tell me about it. It's nice when the military provides - we had a military-only early showing on Friday. It was great.

I'm definitely going to need to see it again.

Hah. Check the credits for TLJ. There's always two EDIT: I mean "always two there are".

So I have no hope for episode IX and it was clear from the moment Disney bought it that all the one-offs and new trilogies would be Disney-style money grabs.

But I'm curious. Can any of you that liked it actually describe what you liked? Because so far everyone I've seen who hated it were able to list up all the bad things while people who liked it either go "it's something new" or "it was cool".

I'll answer, but how spoilery are we going? It might be an idea to make a thread for it in that case.
