Damn, I want to hear that they're keeping the Mesmer.

Hummm, I wondering if the Warriors getting the Longbow means that we won't be seeing the ranger. Also the 'Chains' means that the Assassins are gone and incorporated into the Warrior class, especially with the ability to dual-wield. Also, and perhaps this is just a typo or an error at this point, but there's one handed swords, axes & maces, but there's only two-handed greatswords and hammers. No two handed axes.

Not sure exactly how reliable this is, but the Official Guild Wars 2 wiki has this:

When clicking on Necro it gives this information:

So whatever that all means. There's two scholar-based classes that haven't shown up...Would Mesmer be one, possibly?
Which classes from GW1 fall under which description (Scholar, Adventurer, Soldiers)?
I would guess Ranger is Adventurer, Mesmer as Scholar, Necro as...? Monk? Would Assassin be a Soldier-class, possibly? Or would that be saved for whatever GW uses as its Paladin-style class?
EDIT: Well, the Wiki thinks Necro will likely be a Scholar class, so... Is there any other class that could take up the third Scholar spot that isn't Mesmer?

I can see parts of the Mesmer and Necro merging. Mesmer was unique and I doubt it will be cut. Necro could become a summoning class. Rangers I am pretty sure will make it in. One of the main characters of GW2 has a wolf pet and sports a bow. Assassins I think will not be in. However they might be merged with an Adventure class and be called something else. Monks as dedicated healers will not make it.
Scholar: would be casters (AR 60). Adventurers would be Ranger,Assassin,Dervish (AR 70). Soldiers would be Warrior and Paragon (AR 80).
