Default Chromesthesia - wondering if it inspired Warbreaker magic system

My niece was just diagnosed with a neurological condition called Chromesthesia. It's where you hear sounds and the stimuli also results in seeing colors. Apparently, it sometimes results in people being able to hear perfect pitch and other things that give them exceptional musical abilities. As you hear the sound, seeing the colors as the sound changes between pitch/notes/etc. gives you an additional sense to judge the music.

I'd never heard of such a thing, but when my sister first told me about it a few days ago, it hit me that it seemed similar to breath and the way color was impacted, having perfect pitch, etc. in the magic system in Warbreaker.

I haven't read it, but I know BS also has other magic systems where it's based on having some kind of disease that triggers the magic.

Has anyone ever asked BS if medical conditions are an inspiration for how he constructs a magic system?
