2012-04-30: I had the great pleasure of speaking with Harriet McDougal Rigney about her life. She's an amazing talent and person and it will take you less than an hour to agree.
2012-04-24: Some thoughts I had during JordanCon4 and the upcoming conclusion of "The Wheel of Time."

Harriet now reading from A Memory of Light.
There was supposed to be a reading and Q&A period with both Brandon and Harriet at this event. However, Brandon's plane was late, so the reading and Q&A proceeded with just Harriet.
2
Will any of the notes be published?
No, but an encyclopedia will come out in about a year.
3
Movie?
Universal has the rights and has had them for more than 5 years.
4
Hardest part of Brandon finishing the series?
That he wasn't my husband.
5
How do you feel now that this part of your life is over?
I don't know but I bought an embroidery kit.
6
Will the audio of RJ's dictation of the final scene be released?
That's a good question. I'll think about it.
7
8
Who is your favorite character?
Verin, I'm a Brown. But I'm a lot like Nynaeve.
9
Will you edit any more books?
There are only 2 sentences of material for outrigger novels. RJ did not want infinite more books.
10
Any other RJ books?
There was a western but it was too rough and needs a rewrite. It will not come out.
11
What about the main character that was removed from The Eye of the World?
He didn't do anything until book 4. So he got cut.
12
Staircase documentary?
Hunter shot RJ hamming it up for 2 hours. Coming into shape. Might come out.
This question is in reference to "The Wit of the Staircase", a planned film on RJ and southern writers by Hunter Wentworth.
13
What trait of a female character did you do? Braid tugging?
None.
14
Who was RJ most like?
Perrin and also Mat. He quit a good job to be an author so you know he's a gambler.
15
What was it like editing as Team Jordan?
It was a team process—military history, characters, and continuity.
16
How do you get to be an editor for an author like RJ?
I started a long time ago when dinosaurs roamed the earth! Worked my way up.
Harriet was already an established editor when she met RJ; it was RJ who was just starting out as an author. See Theoryland's interview with Harriet for more details.

Mat Cauthon is noticeably different in the last 3 books.
I don't think so but you're entitled to your own opinion.

"I will be the guest of honor at Minicon in Minneapolis 2015. Playing Magic and hanging out."
Apparently, Brandon finally arrived at the signing at this point.
