Before Winter's Heart - Archive Only: The Second Mind Trap

Mind traps are used for control. Few would consider going against a order from the DO or the Forsaken, except of course, one of the forsaken.

We know one is moggy's, why control moggy, because she has had direct contact with nyneave, egwene and elayne plus the rebel aes sedai. If she is to placed in a sensitive position near any of the afore mentioned her actions can't be marred by any personel feelings.

Therefore it fits that the second mind trap could belong to some else in a similar position. Who is in a similar position ? Who was called before the DO ? Who is in a position under the control of someone he hates ? Who is Taim ?

Answers Taim is Demandred, he was called before the DO and ordered to let the lord of chaos rule (Rand). He hates Rand. In a relationship where he must except Rands orders he must be itching to teach the sheepherder the meaning of pain and suffering. The DO isn't a mug, he knows Demandred, and he knows Demandred must be leashed. Hence the need for a mind trap.

I always looked at the mind traps as punishment but as you have made clear in your theory, it could also be used for absolute control. Is it possible that it is only Taim, not Demandred, and that he was captured and placed in a mind trap and told to seek out Al'Thor? One last comment, Cyndane appears to have been placed in a mind trap...so are there three mind traps that Moridin controls?
