View Full Version : Clearly It's the School's Fault...

Not the people that shot him or anything.

Here's a quote from the article: "The family of a gay teen fatally shot in class is suing the school district for allowing him to wear makeup and feminine clothing to school. The suit alleges that faculty at E.O. Green Junior High School in Oxnard, Calif., knew Larry King was subject to abuse because of his sexual orientation but failed to protect him."

Seriously people.

Ah, but that link takes us back to our hairy friend the Sasquatch again.

Oops...must not have copied over right. Let me fix it.

Hmm...so, I'm assuming that the boy was a ward of the court and lived in a shelter for abused children because of treatment received at the hands of his parents? Not sure these people should be the recipients of compensation under any circumstances.

Yeah, I caught that part too. Great people apparently.

The only thing that really got to me was that the kid's name is LARRY KING! :D

They should throw the family in jail for trying to profit over the death of the child they abused.

You know the legal system is out of control when something like this comes up.

Wow, this is an imaginative "blame the victim" spiel. They could have blamed the bigot who did the shooting. Or they could have blamed the school for not properly teaching said bigot the values of acceptance and individual responsibility*.
Instead they choose to blame the school for not sufficiently trying to suppress freedom.

* Which would've told said bigot that it was none of his business how a classmate chose to dress.

Sorry, totally inappropriate, but with the name Larry and the gayness and all, the first thing that popped in my head was:

THIS is what HAPPENS when you FUCK a STRANGER in the ASS, LARRY!!

How awful. In grade eight, you're what? 12? What on earth would possess a 12 year old kid to hate someone so much that he had to kill him - at 12?!

Closer to 14 in 8th grade...

Sexual harassment, Ishara. At least, according to the Newsweek article (http://www.newsweek.com/id/147790/page/1) about it. They have a bunch of witnesses saying that King repeatedly hit on Brandon, made lewd comments, even told him he was hot while they were changing for gym, even after being repeatedly told to stop and leave him alone. Not that that excuses murder. If you read the whole thing, there is no pointing fingers. Everyone involved in the whole situation handled it in the worst possible ways. It's just horrible and depressing to think about. And both the kids were 15.

And according to Newsweek, the school couldn't legally force Larry to dress in boys clothes.
